Better Care Together: A blue print for health and social care in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland 2014/19, has been launched in June and presents a vision for the future shape of health and social care across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland (LLR).
Care homes across West Leicestershire will take centre stage and welcome the public through their doors tomorrow (20 June) for National Care Home Open Day.
The CCG is supporting this campaign which aims to change perceptions of residential care by connecting residents with their local communities and reminding people that care homes are filled with unique, intelligent and charming characters, and are run by special people who really care.
Older people, relatives and carers across West Leicestershire are being offered advice on taking positive action to stay steady on their feet and prevent falls during National Falls Awareness Week (16-23 June).
The CCG is marking national Carers Week (9-14 June) by encouraging young carers not to care in silence and isolation but to seek support if they care for a relative and haven’t told anyone officially.
A young carer is someone aged 18 or under who helps look after a relative who has a condition such as a disability, illness, mental health condition, or a drug or alcohol problem.
Members of the public are invited to attend our next board meeting on Tuesday 10 June from 1.30pm to 4.30pm in boardrooms 1 and 2 at the CCG’s headquarters at 55 Woodgate, Loughborough, LE11 2TZ.
The CCG plans and pays for many of the NHS services for people living in Hinckley and Bosworth, North Charnwood, North West Leicestershire and South Charnwood, including hospitals, mental health services and community healthcare.
