Please use NHS emergency services sensibly

To the people of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland

We the Chairs of the healthcare organisations across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland are appealing to people to use their local NHS emergency services sensibly, particularly over the four day Christmas Bank Holiday weekend. Your local NHS emergency care services have been very busy over the previous six weeks, with the pressure increasing over the last fortnight and we predict it will continue over the weekend.

Make a new start and keep positive over Christmas

The festive season is usually a time for enjoyment, socialising and having fun. But it can be difficult for people in Leicestershire who struggle to keep themselves feeling upbeat.

So as part of their New Start, New You campaign West Leicestershire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is encouraging people to take steps to help themselves stay positive at this potentially lonely time.

Feeling under the weather? Get on the Health Bus!

As the Met Office forecasts more unsettled weather – including rain, frost and fog –  an NHS ‘Health Bus’ is on its way to help people tackle winter ailments.

The NHS Health Bus is rolling into Leicester this week offering some timely mini check-ups and advice on winter wellbeing.

The launch of the Health Bus is the latest idea in the NHS three-month ‘Feeling under the weather?’ campaign to tackle common conditions – especially among people most at risk.
