West Leicestershire Clinical Commissioning Group (WL CCG) is holding its first Board meeting as an NHS statutory body since the full scale of the NHS reforms took effect earlier this month.

The meeting will take place on Tuesday 9 April 2013, in Boardrooms 1 and 2 at the CCG’s offices, 55 Woodgate, Loughborough LE11 2TZ, starting at 1.30pm.

It includes a chance for the public to ask questions on items on the agenda, and an update on one of its main priorities - delivering ‘proactive care’. This refers to improving where care is provided, shifting the current emphasis on acute care towards prevention, self-care, more consistent standards of primary care and care that is well co-ordinated and integrated.

The Board will also receive a formal notification that the CCG has achieved full authorisation to act as a statutory NHS body. Papers for the meeting will be available on the CCG website a few days before the event, see www.westleicestershireccg.nhs.uk .
