NHS West Leicestershire CCG, the organisation which plans and pays for healthcare on behalf of everyone who lives in West Leicestershire, is urging people to get more involved in how NHS services are delivered in their local area.

Professor Mayur Lakhani, GP in West Leicestershire and Chair of West Leicestershire CCG said:

“As a clinician I know that putting patients at the heart of everything that we do, listening to and understanding their views, is the best way to plan and deliver good health care services. We’re asking anyone who is interested in shaping health care in West Leicestershire to sign up to our mailing list so we can offer them opportunities to get involved with changes to services in their local area.”

People who sign up to the mailing list will be invited to share their thoughts on services, attend co-design events and participate in consultations which will shape the future of health care in the area. They will also receive the monthly InTouch newsletter, which will keep them up to date with what is happening in West Leicestershire

Liz Jones, patient representative in West Leicestershire said:

“I’ve been involved for several years with the NHS as a patient representative and I’m passionate about making sure that the patient’s voice is front and centre of everything we do. We’re looking for people from all walks of life to get involved with the work the NHS does and tell us what they think about how they should deliver services in the future. The NHS belongs to all of us, so we should all take the opportunity to have our say about what matters most to us.”
