Members of the public have the chance to help shape the future of community health services in Ashby-de-la-Zouch by filling in an online questionnaire.
West Leicestershire Clinical Commissioning Group (WL CCG), which is currently reviewing community health services in Ashby, wants patients, the public and organisations to help decide how these services may be provided in the future. The review is called ‘Fit for the Future’.
The CCG wants to provide care closer to home and make sure that time spent in hospital is as effective as possible.
No decisions have yet been made, and the CCG is involving patients, the public, partners and organisations in helping to decide how and where community health services may be provided in the future. To do this it has begun a process of engagement that will continue throughout the summer and will help to develop options for the future. If the options involve significant change there will be a full public consultation.
The questionnaire is available at www.surveymonkey.com/s/ashbychs and the deadline for responses is Wednesday 24 July. If you would like a printed copy contact Penny Harris by calling 0116 295 4183 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Dr Nick Willmott, a Leicestershire GP and the urgent care lead for WL CCG, said: “Our review of community health services in Ashby will help us to understand how well current services meet patients’ needs and whether we are making the best use of our resources.
“We held an engagement event on Wednesday (17 July) in Ashby, which was very well attended by over 60 people, and now we are giving the public a further chance to give their views on how community health services are provided in Ashby by filling in the online questionnaire.”
