Protect your child against flu

29th October 2013

West Leicestershire Commissioning Group is backing a new national campaign to get young children vaccinated with a nasal spray against flu.

The CCG’s support follows assurances from Muslim and Jewish leaders that the new nasal spray complies with their religious codes, despite containing a substance derived from pork gelatine. The end product is so far removed from pork that there is no breach of religious laws, they agreed.

All parents with two and three-year-olds in West Leicestershire are encouraged to get their children vaccinated.

Clinical commissioning groups urge greater awareness of breast cancer

10th October 2013

The physical and emotional impact of breast cancer and its treatment can change the way a woman feels about her body and the way she sees herself. This in turn can affect a woman’s self-esteem and relationships at a time when she may already be at her lowest. Some women find that they lose a sense of who they are.
