Dr Nick Pulman is originally from Manchester. He moved to Leicestershire in 1978 as one of the first year intake at the then brand new Leicester Medical School. He trained as a GP at Leicester Royal Infirmary, Leicester General Hospital and Syston Health Centre and then moved to practice at Coalville in 1987. His partnership carried out a successful merger of three surgeries (Long Lane, Coalville Health Centre and the Family Practice) which now operate from one site at Long Lane. He also runs a community based vasectomy service. Nick was involved in developing primary care as an early fund holder, and as a member of Leicestershire County and Rutland PCT’s Professional Executive Committee, leading on information technology and practice-based commissioning. He was Chair of West Leicestershire CCG from establishment up to the end of January 2014 and is now Locality Lead for North West Leicestershire. He believes passionately in primary care and the importance of a team approach to delivering quality care.
