Keep your medicine cabinet stocked, and talk to your pharmacist

Some conditions, such as coughs and colds are what we call “self limiting” conditions, which means that they will generally get better on their own. It’s important to keep a well-stocked medicine cabinet so that if you do feel ill, you can try treating yourself before you make an appointment to see a doctor. Click here for a detailed list of what should be in a medicine cabinet. Click here for an interactive first aid kit where you can find out what should be in your first aid kit and how to use it.

Your pharmacist can also advise you on a range of minor illnesses and ailments, and its quicker and easier to pop into your local pharmacist than it is making an appointment to see a doctor. Across West Leicestershire we have pharmacists who are open for longer hours, so please look at our winter local services pages to find a pharmacy near to you.
