Make an appointment with your GP for non-urgent health care
We know from feedback that some of you have found it difficult to get an appointment with your GP, and it can put you off from trying to call. Across West Leicestershire we’ve put additional schemes in place to add appointments over the winter period. If you need to see a GP they will do their best to give you an appointment as soon as possible, although we do ask that you are a flexible as you can be with when you can attend.
We also recommend you get to know your local GP opening hours, so that you know when to call them when you need to book an appointment. It’s also important to find out if you can book an appointment online, as that can often be quicker than phoning, but if you do need to call, find out what is the best time to call to make an urgent appointment. Don't forget that many conditions can be treated by the practice nurse, who can diagnose, treat and even prescribe medicine for certain illnesses.
If you’re not currently registered with a GP practice then it is absolutely vital that you do so, in order to be able to access healthcare for you and your loved ones. Click here to find out about your local GP services.
