Freedom of information request
The Freedom of Information Act promotes greater openness, accountability and transparency across the public sector. Under the Act individuals have the right to be told whether particular information exists and the right to access recorded information held by NHS West Leicestershire CCG. This may include documents such as reports, minutes or emails.
As a public authority, NHS West Leicestershire CCG is required under the Freedom of Information Act to produce and maintain a publication scheme through which information must be made available.
The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) has produced a model publication scheme, which lists classes of information that public authorities would normally hold.
Those classes are:
Who we are and what we do |
Organisational information, locations and contacts, constitutional and legal governance |
What we spend and how we spend it |
Financial information relating to projected and actual income and expenditure, tendering, procurement and contracts |
What our priorities are and how we are doing |
Strategy and performance information, plans, assessments, inspections and reviews |
How we make decisions |
Policy proposals and decisions, decision making processes, internal criteria and procedures, consultations |
Our policies and procedures |
Current written protocols for delivering our functions and responsibilities |
Lists and registers |
Information held in registers required by law and other lists and registers relating to the functions of the authority |
The services we offer |
Advice and guidance, booklets and leaflets, transactions and media releases. A description of the services offered |
The CCG has assessed the requirements of the publication scheme against our web content and believe that we routinely make available the information stated above on our web pages.
The publication scheme also sets out circumstances under which NHS West Leicestershire CCG would not be required to make information routinely available, which includes:
- The information is not held
- The information is exempt from disclosure, for example if it is personal data or it is considered to be commercially sensitive
- It is not possible for the CCG to easily access the information.
