Local GP reappointed to lead West Leicestershire’s health services

Sileby GP Professor Mayur Lakhani has been re-elected as clinical chair of West Leicestershire CCG for a further two years. 
West Leicestershire CCG Managing Director Toby Sanders said: “All 48 member GP practices were eligible to vote in the recent election to appoint a clinical chair for the next two years. On behalf of the Board, I’d like to thank all the candidates who were nominated for the role for their hard work and commitment to improving health care services locally for our patients. We look forward to continuing to work with Mayur during his next term of office.”

Professor Mayur Lakhani CBE FRCGP is a practising GP from Sileby, at Highgate Medical Centre, in South Charnwood, Leicestershire. He has been a GP in the practice for over twenty years. He is a Board Member of the CCG and is involved in several areas of work: end of life care, primary care quality practice appraiser and the commissioning sub group.  Mayur is President Elect of the Royal College of GPs and President Elect of Leicester Medical Society. He is also a visiting professor in the Division of Health Sciences at the University of Leicester (Honorary).
