Currently female GPs are under-represented in leadership roles in LLR for a variety of reasons and we want to address this gender imbalance; inclusive and diverse boards and committees benefit from fresh perspectives and experiences which leads to better decision-making.
GPs across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland are invited to a 'Women in Clinical Leadership' event on Thursday 14 November 2019, from 7:30pm to 9pm at West Leicestershire CCG offices on Woodgate, Loughborough.
The event will be opened by Professor Mayur Lakhani, Chair, West Leicestershire CCG and President of the Royal College of General Practitioners. Talks will include a 'demystifying' session with a panel of female GPs who have experience in top non-clinical leadership roles within the local healthcare system. The event promises to be an informal evening of talks, discussion and networking aimed at any LLR GP wanting to know more about the range of clinical leadership roles and opportunities available outside of seeing patients.
- Dr Ursula Montgomery, Chair, East Leicestershire and Rutland CCG
- Dr Reema Parwaiz, GP and Board member, West Leicestershire CCG
- Dr Annapurna Rao, Accountable Clinical Director (Watermead PCN)
- Dr. Rebecca Dempsey, Charnwood GP network Director, ACD for Beacon PCN
We hope to see as many GPs as possible at this inaugural event, which is open to all LLR GPs (female and male, whether salaried, locum, or partners). Drinks and refreshments available from 7pm.
